Sharper Image We’ve all been there; shaky hands afraid to really mess up that perfect photograph.
In Still Life photography obtaining a sharper image is a must.
Firstly, the use of a tripod with a high quality ball head is probably the best way of obtaining a sharper image.
Available in many sizes, it is advisable to buy a sturdy and weighty model that will guarantee stability.
Remember, when a tripod is not available, you can also use the objects around you; all you have to do is use your imagination.
Many objects can become the perfect sturdy base for your camera and help you get a sharper image.
It’s important also to be well balanced.
Whether you are indoors or outdoors, try to find something to lean against and keep your position firm yet relaxed, to avoid shaking and messing up your picture.
We know that with the excitement of the moment it’s easy to get distracted and jeopardise your chances of a sharper image.
Try and keep as calm as possible, press the shutter button gently and slowly, so your camera will not shake.
Another option, although a little pricy one, is an Image Stabiliser Lense.
This special lense actually compensates any movements or vibrations you might make with your camera, assuring a sharper image every time.
A cheaper alternative to these kinds of accessories is either the in-built self timer or a cable release; especially good when there is poor light and a low shutter speed.
Rest assured that a good combination of all of these methods will give you a better chance of getting a sharper image. |
